*The word flâneuse (feminine form of flâneur) from the French language is considered a very difficult one to translate. The guidance from the French dictionary Le Robert is considered one of the closest descriptions available, deeming a flâneur "an artist of impressions, circumnavigating the city as whim dictates, giving himself over to the 'spectacle of the moment.'" The flâneur was an important fixture in the work of French poet Charles Baudelaire.
